A counter full of medication preparing for a disaster

Preparing for a Disaster

For most of us, preparing for a disaster is not something we spend a lot of time contemplating. While we can’t know the moment a disaster will strike, we know one thing – one will eventually occur. In Southern California, there are certain disasters that are more likely to occur than others such as earthquakes, landslides, flooding, and wildfires. It’s important you are prepared for when they do strike.

Here are some ways to prepare for a disaster.

  1. Develop a family communication plan
  2. Maintain a supply of personal, health, and home supplies
  3. Have a kit that includes ready-to-eat food and water, first-aid supplies, candles and matches or flashlights.
